This beautiful Camellia is definitely one of my favourites. Introduced from Japan in 1898 so a proven winner! Translation of the name means Snow, Moon and Flowers - isn't that just lovely? Fantastic hedge plant - grows quite quickly.

I have a group of these growing against a grey fence in the garden, they are remarkably tolerant of heat and sun though I am sure they would be happier in part shade. Even though the situation is less than ideal they flower for months.
