Rugosa - Species. Glossy deep green foliage and enormous (10cm) flowers of pure white that are single and richly scented. A circle of golden stamens highlights the blooms which repeat on and off from spring to autumn. Lovely autumn foliage colour and red hips. Introduced to England in 1870.

As with all Rugosas this is a hardy and tolerant rose that copes well with poorer soils and even a little shade. Originally found in areas of Russia, China and Japan. Hips are used for Jam, Jelly and Tea.

aka Scabrosa

Rugosa. The name 'Scabrosa' refers to the roughness of the handsome foliage which is clear green with interesting veining. The summer blooms are bright cerise pink offset with golden stamens and are followed by big fat red hips. Nice sweet fragrance. Robust and vigorous. 1950.

This rose could be used as a hedge as it grows into quite a tall specimen. The hips can be used for culinary purposes.

Hybrid Musk. Dark green glossy foliage and semi-double, lightly scented blooms from summer right through to autumn. The blooms are pink, blended with cherry red towards the outer edges. Quite light and frilly looking but overall a robust vigorous rose that will perform well. 1983.

This flowers of this rose also last well when picked for indoor floral displays.

Floribunda. Gorgeous vintage style, soft champagne pink-blooms with exquisite fragrance. Easy care, healthy plant with upright, taller growing habit. The unique, large multi-petal clusters repeat flower on long stems - wonderful for picking! PVR

Rambler Weeping . A vigorous rose with semi-glossy green foliage and a cascading habit. In late summer pale pink buds open to reveal white rosette blooms with a sweet scent. Will tolerate a little shade and poor soil. 1872.

Floribunda. Scent by an Angel, a lovely name for a lovely rose that blooms continuously over the summer period. This high health rose mass produces gorgeously scented double blooms of a lovely blending of light red and deep pink. Dark green glossy foliage. Deciduous.

Floribunda. With a name like 'Scent to Remember' you absolutely know that this rose is going to smell delicious and it certainly does. Not only that, it has exquisite, peachy apricot coloured blooms and is seldom without a flower from spring to autumn. Healthy disease resistant foliage. 2006. PVR
