Coral Pea. An evergreen twining climber with leathery green foliage. Clusters of little "pea like" pink flowers appear in late winter-spring smothering the foliage. Likes a sunny well drained spot with protection from harsh frost. Avoid Lime. Very pretty and evergreen.

Hardenbergia is evergreen but will respond well to being cut back to encourage new growth.

aka Purple Coral Pea

This 'Aussie' climber will bring some welcome colour to your garden in winter and spring as long as you give it a warm sheltered position in the garden. Dark green leathery foliage and racemes of purple pea like flowers. Use on a trellis or pergola or scramble loosely over rocks and banks. Evergreen.

Hardenbergia is evergreen but can be cut back hard after flowering to reinvigorate and encourage new growth.

Variegated Ivy. Fast growing, vigorous and self-clinging. This is a useful plant when quick coverage of unsightly areas is needed. Can also be used as an indoor plant. Glossy, broad, fresh green foliage always looks good and responds well to a trim. Tolerates just about anything. Evergreen.

Hoya carnosa, AKA wax plant or honey plant, is a climbing or trailing perennial houseplant. Cna be grown outside but in a very sheltered position. Fragrant white and pink summer flowers. Long lived house plant. Happiest in full sun with a free draining mix , Over watering may cause root rot.

aka Climbing Hydrangea

Lacecap. This is a very rare, self-clinging, climbing Hydrangea that hails from Mexico. The evergreen leaves are large, serrated and dark green. The flat white flower heads open from large buds and appear en masse in summer. Protect from harsh frost. Evergreen.

An interesting plant that can be used to cover an unsightly wall or fence, perhaps use it to cover a water tank if you live rural. Like me the plant may droop a little in our harsh afternoon sun but as long as it is well watered it will recover as the day cools. Perhaps happiest in a morning sun only position. Information Pages

Jasminum mesnyi is one of the true yellow jasmines. This ornamental climber is both vigorous and hardy. They rich yellow flowers are not known to be fragrant but for sheer colour display it is a winner. Responds well to pruning after flowering. Excellent bonsai jasmine. Evergreen.
