PAGE 1 ALL Moss. A beautiful Rose which was discovered in Switzerland in the 1820's. The clear pink blooms are sweetly scented, fully double and cupped. Flowers in summer and should be pruned after flowering. Slightly drooping habit but quite hardy all the same.

A typical moss rose with whiskered buds that open to quartered deep red to blackish purple blooms. Relatively small plant that has coarse foliage and lots of thorns but oh so beautiful in bloom. Fragrant and repeats well. Can be grown in a pot. 1873.

A chance seedling classed as a Centifolia but some say it is a modern hybrid. No matter the heritage it is a truly beautiful rose with pink quartered blooms that have a strong sweet fragrance. The blooms appear in large clusters for a long period but do not repeat thereafter. C1940.

The buds are said to look like a 'cocked hat' hence the name Chapeau De Napoleon or 'Napoleon's Hat'. Not sure what the little general would think about that, mind you he did love Josephine and she in turn had a passion for roses.......
