One of the best loved Rugosas with good reason. Nice dark green foliage which colours well in the autumn. Very hardy and tolerant. 1901.

Rugosa - Species. Glossy deep green foliage and enormous (10cm) flowers of pure white that are single and richly scented. A circle of golden stamens highlights the blooms which repeat on and off from spring to autumn. Lovely autumn foliage colour and red hips. Introduced to England in 1870.

aka Scabrosa Rugosa. The name 'Scabrosa' refers to the roughness of the handsome foliage which is clear green with interesting veining. The summer blooms are bright cerise pink offset with golden stamens and are followed by big fat red hips. Nice sweet fragrance. Robust and vigorous. 1950.

Rugosa. This highly fragrant rose has loose, semi-double, silky pink flowers produced in repeated flushes from spring to late summer. The blooms have a cluster of golden stamens in the centre. Dense dark green foliage and thorny, upright growth habit. 1926.

The blooms appear continuously throughout the season and have a delightful fragrance. Quite strong and robust, can cope with a little shade and is generally healthy and disease resistant. 1962.
