Leonotis is a fantastic small shrub. It is tough as nails, tolerating high temperatures and drought conditions. Once established, it requires very little watering or care at all. The white variety of Leonotis is unusual and will be a talking point in a garden. Semi-evergreen.

Semi-evergreen shrubby perennial that hails from South Africa. The tall straight stems of aromatic foliage are topped off in summer and autumn with whorls of bright orange, furry, tubular flowers. Leonotis or as it is commonly known 'Lion's Ear' will tolerate dry periods once it is established. Can be grown in coastal conditions. Cut back stems quite hard after flowering.

Bushy evergreen shrub with tiny oval deep green leaves. Small creamy white fragrant flowers in summer. Often used as a faster growing Box substitute. Ideal for topiary work and very effective for hedging. Fast growing and hardy.

If you want to quickly establish a nice compact low hedge then this is the plant for you. Lonicera needs a little more clipping than Box but it is very easy to maintain. When used for hedging or topiary then the flowers and fruit will be non existent.

An Attractive low growing shrub with arching branches of white turning pinkish red. Flowers in spring. Highly desirable for picking due to long flowering time and long lasting ability of the cut flower. Needs well draining sunny situation. Cut back after flowering. Evergreen.

Murraya responds very well to clipping (after flowering) and can be used as a low hedge or for topiary - as you would use Box. An extremely popular landscaping plant for frost free areas and it really does smell simply wonderful.

Produces red new growth when other Nandinas are green (spring and autumn). A compact, rounded, evergreen shrub with that produces red new growth in spring and autumn. This highly decorative form of the Chinese welcome bush is valued for the wonderful autumn foliage colour which intensifies to a brilliant red in winter. Though 'Gulfstream' is easy care and hardy the plant will appreciate some slow release fertilizer at the end of summer. Evergreen.

'Gulfstream' can be used as a low hedging plant with great success. It has a nice compact and well behaved habit. Equally at home in a container.

A dwarf variety of Nandina which forms a compact shrub with a clumping habit. The foliage has pale pink tones in spring and beautiful rich burgundy tones in winter. Small white flowers in summer, followed by red berries in autumn. Will grow best in fertile soil in full sun or part shade. PVR.
