An evergreen, ground cover conifer with silver-blue foliage that will widely spread. The foliage retains it colour all year long. Lovely planted around boulders or in a rock garden where its branches can be trained to unique forms. Will tolerate sandy soil and rocky gravel gardens. Hardy.

A reliable plant for extreme conditions. Plant on slopes for coverage or erosion control, along retaining walls and curbs where the creeping foliage will cover year-round.

It forms a wonderful cover and it has a fresh green colour which is reminiscent of lawn. The foliage is very prickly, a common characteristic of many junipers. Most are pretty tolerant with soils, but they dislike a wet environment. Many will take quite alkaline conditions too.It is also often grown as bonsai.

I am not sure why this Juniper is depressed but give it a nice home in your garden and I am sure it will cheer up! Low growing and spreading this hardy shrub has fresh yellow spring and summer foliage that has nice bronze tones in winter. Good for year round colour and texture. Easy to grow, Evergreen.

Kawaka, New Zealand cedar. Slow growing N.Z native. Handsome, symmetrical, pyramidal tree with bright-green, scale-like leaves. Superb as a neat-growing screen, for breaking up dark greenery, or for lining driveways. Evergreen tree that grows at a moderate rate to reach 3m in 10 years.

aka Southern Magnolia

A very handsome evergreen specimen tree with dark green glossy leaves that have a brown under-felt. The flowers are magnificent. Cupped, creamy, fragrant and large. They appear in late summer. Easy to grow and quite hardy. Matures to a pyramidal shape, worthy of the space to grow unhindered.

Bred by in NZ by Mark Jury. A beautiful, easy to grow Michelia with dainty spring flowers which are delightfully fragrant and coloured an unusual lilac pink. The dark green foliage always looks good and is disease resistant. Happy in the sun or part shade. Evergreen.

I put 6 of these in my front garden a year ago and they have done remarkably well and seem quite robust. I intend to trim them up to make a standard shape but they do equally well left as a bush or used as a hedge.
