A very miniature form of the sacred Ginkgo tree from China. Fine fans of fern like foliage in fresh green decorate the branches from spring until summer turning a soft butter yellow in autumn. Happy in the sun and likes deep fertile soil with protection from harsh wind. Deciduous.

This little sweetie would make a special container plant. Male Clone.

A wonderful specimen or shade tree with lime green to yellow coloured foliage. Producing cool colours in the heat of summer. Bred in New Zealand. Easy to grow and cold hardy once well established. Prefers a moist well drained soil. Thornless. Deciduous.

We must like this tree because it's growing in our garden. Very aptly named as the foliage is delicately divided and 'lacy' and you guessed it, a ruby wine colour. The foliage has bronze tones as it matures. Forms a graceful round headed small tree. Lovely to sit under. Deciduous.

Honey Locust. A lovely choice for a feature or shade tree. Dainty divided fronds of fresh green foliage emerge in spring giving a gentle cascading affect. Easy to grow and tolerant of most conditions however if possible it is probably best to avoid very strong winds. Deciduous.

Honey Locust. A quick growing, attractive specimen tree with dainty fern-like foliage. The new leaves are bright lime yellow turning to a softer green as summer progresses, finally turning vibrant gold before leaf fall. Graceful pendulous habit, easy to grow and lovely to sit under. Est.10yr.growth.

This particular cultivar of Gleditsia is thorn-less and makes a very attractive medium sized tree. The leaf colour will be at its best if grown in an open sunny spot. One of my favourites.

The Wonder Tree is particularly valued for the pendulous clusters of red berries that decorate the bare branches in winter. It is a lovely shade or specimen tree with inconspicuous yet fragrant flowers in summer, thick heart shaped green leaves and just a nice structure. As a young seedling its unknown if male or female species.

aka Jacaranda

This specimen tree from Brazil is a visual delight when in full flower. In late spring-summer masses of mauve-blue tubular flowers smother the tree followed by decorative seed pods. The ferny green foliage is semi-evergreen when temperatures are cool. Protect from frost.

Jacarandas like a warm sheltered position and well drained soil. In their native Brazil they are considered a tropical evergreen and in NZ they grow really well in warmer parts of the country like the Bay of Plenty. They can be grown in cooler areas if protected from frost whilst young.

aka Golden rain tree

This is a small, open branched, deciduous tree with a rounded crown. Leaves emerge pinkish bronze to purplish in spring, mature to a bright green in summer and turn yellow in fall. Bright yellow flowers appear early summer an change to brown, papery seed capsules which resemble Chinese lanterns.
