A delicious fruiting shrub that hails from Brazil. That tells you it will like a nice warm sheltered spot in the garden. White flowers in spring followed by sweet aromatic yellow fruit that are ripe from about April. Glossy green foliage. Likes good drainage and protection from harsh frost. Evergreen.

Your Guava will need frost protection when young but will eventually harden to light frosts. The fruit are ready when they are fully coloured and slightly soft to the touch. Do not prune in spring as you will cut off the fruiting flowers that appear on the current seasons branches (wood).
