We must like this tree because it's growing in our garden. Very aptly named as the foliage is delicately divided and 'lacy' and you guessed it, a ruby wine colour. The foliage has bronze tones as it matures. Forms a graceful round headed small tree. Lovely to sit under. Deciduous.

Honey Locust. A quick growing, attractive specimen tree with dainty fern-like foliage. The new leaves are bright lime yellow turning to a softer green as summer progresses, finally turning vibrant gold before leaf fall. Graceful pendulous habit, easy to grow and lovely to sit under. This particular cultivar of Gleditsia is thorn-less and makes a very attractive medium sized tree. The leaf colour will be at its best if grown in an open sunny spot. One of my favourites.

The Liriodendron is a close relative of the Magnolia and likes the same type of deep acid soil. It is more tolerant of moisture than the Magnolia. A perfect memorial tree to celebrate a birth. Give this tree the space it deserves to reach its full magnificence.
