Known commonly as Bottlebrush, these hardy attractive evergreens are available as shrubs or a small tree. They are sun lovers, and will grow in most NZ conditions, including coastal areas. The flower spikes appear in spring and summer, and resemble a "bottlebrush" - the spikes last well on the plant, and are typically red, pink, white, and mauve. Prune after flowering to keep a nice compact bushy plant.
