A small, evergreen shrub with a natural rounded form with narrow green leaves and dark, crimson-red bottlebrush flowers that appear Spring through to late Autumn. Plant in full sun to light shade. Suitable for growing in coastal areas and tolerates periods of drought. Attracts bees and nectar-feeding birds.

Bottlebrush. A small to medium sized shrub which is hardy under a wide range of garden conditions. The flower lime green flower spikes appear in late spring. Likes a light to heavy soil in a moist open situation. Prune to maintain size and shape and to encourage flower production. Evergreen.

A robust and easy to grow evergreen shrub with stiff green foliage. Masses of crimson 'bottle-brushes' appear at the end of each branch from spring through to autumn. Loved by the birds and the bees. Likes a warm position with protection from harsh frost but generally undemanding.

Bottle Brush. A spreading low growing form of this popular Australian shrub. During the summer it smothers itself with bright red 'bottle brush' flowers that are tinged with gold. Loves hot dry areas and happy on the coast. Quite drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

Members of the Callistemon family or 'Bottle Brush' as they are commonly known do not like too much fertilizer. The safest way to give them some nutrients is with a slow release product but remember in this case 'less is more'.
