A rare and unusual Elm that has dainty, small, leathery dark green leaves. The tree is slow growing and as it matures the bark becomes mottled and patterned. Likes the sun and fertile moist soil. Hardy - semi-evergreen in milder climates, otherwise deciduous. Resistant to Dutch Elm Disease.
