Bottle Brush. A spreading low growing form of this popular Australian shrub. During the summer it smothers itself with bright red 'bottle brush' flowers that are tinged with gold. Loves hot dry areas and happy on the coast. Quite drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

Members of the Callistemon family or 'Bottle Brush' as they are commonly known do not like too much fertilizer. The safest way to give them some nutrients is with a slow release product but remember in this case 'less is more'.

Native. Ake Ake. A no fuss evergreen foliage shrub that can be used for hedging or background planting. The slightly wavy leaves are shaded purple and bronze and will have better colour if not over-fed or pampered. Will grow just about anywhere except full shade. Evergreen.

Oak Leafed Hydrangea. This is just a gorgeous top performing deciduous shrub. The deeply lobed green leaves turn orange-scarlet in autumn and hold well into winter. In spring, delicious large, clusters of cream flowers appear and these also hold well. Hardy and easy to grow. Prune hard late winter-early spring.
