A medium to tall Australian Wattle with dense foliage and weeping branches, which have small, oval, pointed leaves. Masses of bright yellow, rounded flowers in Spring. Can be used as a specimen, hedge, windbreak or screening. Full sun, part shade. Prefers it wetter rather than dry. Evergreen

Tolerates most soil conditions but likes it more on the wet side than dry.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland

A bold landscaping plant with cream and green arching variegated leaves up to 1m long that form a large clump. In spring a flower spike with dark pink bracts rises above the the foliage. This variety of Beschorneria is considered to more cold hardy than others. It will probably tolerate a light frost but will do better in a warm well drained spot with protection from harsh conditions. Suitable for a container and would certainly look quite dramatic in one.

One of the best shrubs to come out of Australia is this highly fragrant A delight to the senses, when we most need it in late winter. The little round brown/yellow flowers appear en masse, complement the dainty bronze-green foliage. Needs good drainage and acid soil. Evergreen

Don't be disappointed if your Boronia does not have a long life. Mother Nature designed it that way as in Australia it usually naturally regenerates from seed after being destroyed by fire. Pruning immediately after flowering may assist re-growth.

Bottle Brush. A spreading low growing form of this popular Australian shrub. During the summer it smothers itself with bright red 'bottle brush' flowers that are tinged with gold. Loves hot dry areas and happy on the coast. Quite drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

Members of the Callistemon family or 'Bottle Brush' as they are commonly known do not like too much fertilizer. The safest way to give them some nutrients is with a slow release product but remember in this case 'less is more'.

An attractive spreading evergreen shrub which features sparkling clusters of dark blue flowers in late spring. The shiny foliage turns a deeps ebony shade during winter, changing to dark chocolate-green during spring and summer. Quite hardy and tolerant of wind and cold. PVR 1334.

This is a very useful shrub for cascading over walls and banks. Benefits from a trim every now and then (after flowering) to encourage healthy new growth. Very striking in full flower.
