Harvest your Hazelnuts as they drop in February and March. Dry thoroughly prior to storage. 'Barcelona' is used extensively throughout the USA in the Hazelnut industry as it is such a top performer.

Native. The NZ Iris is an attractive clump forming perennial with spears of fresh green foliage. In summer white 'butterfly' flowers dance above the leaves on stiff, wiry stems. These are followed by ornamental seed pods. Well worth planting and easy to grow. Evergreen.

This little Iris has to be one of my favourite NZ natives as it has such dainty white "butterfly" flowers. The narrow sword like leaves form a strong clump, the flowers appear in summer followed by ornamental seed pods. Easy to grow in average soil in a sunny position. Evergreen.

The 'Sweet Gum' is simply one of the best specimen trees for autumn colour. Green summer leaves turn brilliant tones of orange, red and purple in autumn. Will grow almost anywhere but prefers deep fertile soil. Attractive corky bark. Deciduous.

A handsome specimen tree with an upright form and graceful drooping outer branches. The large, lobed, green summer leaves turn striking shades of pale orange and apricot in autumn, eventually turning purple prior to leaf fall. Give it space so it can show its true glory. RHS AGM. Deciduous.

It is important that your Liquidambar is planted in a position where the soil does not completely dry out in summer.
