aka Purple King Palm

A tall, slender Palm from Australia, commonly called Purple King Palm. It has lush, elegant, dark green fronds that grow fast and arch giving shade to any under plantings in the garden. Grown outside in a sheltered position or indoors while its still young. Keep moist through Summer.

Good use for pool areas, parks, along driveways, as a specimen and screening to give a modern, mediterranean, architectural look and feel.

aka Pony Tail Palm

An unusual 'Palm' with a fat swollen base that increases with age. This base is topped off with a mop of branched green foliage that curves backwards reminiscent of a pony tail. Can be grown outdoors but must be protected from all frost. Good drainage is also essential. Evergreen.

aka Cluster Palm

An easy to grow, clumping palm with abundant soft fronds, and slender, bamboo like stems. An excellent palm for screening when planted in groups, or ideal for use in smaller courtyards. Fills out quickly and creates a lush, tropical look. Likes part shade to full sun. Works well indoors. Evergreen.

In approx. 10 years they can grow multiple stems to 3.5m and over.

aka European Fan Palm

One of the most cold hardy of all ornamental palms that will withstand frost and even occasional snow, but tolerates heat as well. Often has a multi trunked habit, is useful as a screening plant, having a wide spread. Slow growing in the garden or in a pot on the deck. Drought and wind resistant.

An attractive clumping palm with a distinctive blue hue to its leaves it is slow growing and suits patio planters and confined landscape situations. Can grow between 1-5m in 10years.

aka Sago Palm

Known as Japanese Sago Palm but not recommended for making a Sago pudding! Slow growing and evergreen this Cycad has dark green, spine tipped leaves with rolled back margins hence the name 'revoluta'. Plant in sun or part shade, protect from harsh frost, does well in a container - indoors or out.

aka Sugar Cane Palm

A really stunning specimen for smaller gardens and can be used as a smaller palm for enclosed spaces such as Courtyards and small patio areas. It will produce multiple ringed trunks that add to its elegance. Prefers a sheltered position but can tolerate shade or sun. Can use as an indoor plant.

aka Kentia Palm

Native to Lord Howe Island off eastern Australia this Palm needs a frost free, sheltered position if grown outdoors. Graceful feather like fronds and a smooth ringed trunk make this a striking specimen for tropical gardens. Looks best when planted in groups. NB Must have shade when young. Evergreen.

A medium to large cycad that matures to form an erect trunk suited to subtropical and temperate climates. Prefers a shady spot in the garden. Great for adding a subtropical look to your garden or equally at home in a feature pot. Tolerates light frosts.

This delightful little palm is a favourite landscape item and is widely grown. It prefers a warm frost-free environment away from strong winds. It will tolerate full sun but it will do better with a little shade. Likes good drainage. Slow growing, looks great in a subtropical garden. Evergreen.

Also known as Norfolk Island Palm. A fast growing and very attractive growing palm that has gentle arching fronds from a solid trunk. Great to use in a sub-tropical garden or where a specimen tree will make a good focal point.
