Acer Butterfly is a delicate, unique small tree. Butterfly has deeply divided, gray-green leaves with creamy margins that are often tinged pink in the spring and scarlet in the fall. It looks lovely from afar but, to see its true splendour, one should look up close. Deciduous.

A heritage apple that was selected in NZ. The fruit is streaked bright red and has some russeting. The flesh is sweet and juicy with a very good flavour. Reliable and regular crops that are ripe around March. Deciduous.

Sasanqua Std. One of NZ's favourite Camellias and deservedly so. An abundance of large wavy white blooms with prominent yellow stamens appear in early autumn through to early winter. The blooms are softly scented. Happiest in semi-shade. Evergreen. Presented here as a Standard.

This beautiful Camellia is definitely one of my favourites. Introduced from Japan in 1898 so a proven winner! Translation of the name means Snow, Moon and Flowers - isn't that just lovely?

aka California Lilac

Std. An attractive evergreen shrub which features sparkling clusters of dark blue flowers in late spring. The shiny foliage turns a deeps ebony shade during winter, changing to dark chocolate-green during spring and summer. Quite hardy and tolerant of wind and cold. PVR 1334.

Ceanothus fix nitrogen from the atmosphere so require no fertiliser.

A tough and hardy deciduous shrub with an arching network of bare branches that usually have thorns. In winter these are covered with clusters of tight buds that open out to single orange flowers. Nice complementary fresh green foliage. Very showy, good for floral art. Easy to grow.
